All week I'll be writing blogs to countdown to the upcoming Stride Pro Wrestling show "Brave the Storm." It's a benefit (Saturday, May 6) to raise money for families in southern Illinois who recently lost their homes or suffered damage during the February 28 tornado.

The tag team scene in Stride Pro Wrestling has been very interesting. We've seen makeshift duos and established units come into the company over the past year. Even our new champions Maximum Overdrive started off as what appeared to be a one-time duo. But Scott Phoenix and Ax Allwardt clicked and are now wearing the gold.

Farmer Billy Hills and Chris Hargas teamed up a few months ago and battled Maximum Overdrive before they became the champs. But like it often happens, Ax's chain played the deciding factor in the match and Farmer and Hargas lost.

Now the two will face each other on Saturday night's Brave the Storm show. The stipulation for the match will allow the winner to pick a new partner and face off against the champions. It's an interesting way to set up the match. I'm looking forward to seeing these two go at it. There doesn't seem to be any bad blood between the two, but each man is hungry for their first title win in Stride, so expect a highly competitive contest.

There are plenty of talented individuals on the roster that either man could pick to go after the champs. But who knows, perhaps a name outside the company could be chosen. Join us tonight and find out who will earn that championship opportunity.
