First, I want to thank you for stopping by my blog. I started My 1-2-3 Cents in 2010, as a blog to share my passion about professional wrestling. In 2013, I made the decision to expand. Now I blog about wrestling, pop culture, and life.
A little bit about me...
I've been happily married to my college sweetheart since 1997. We have three awesome kids who keep us very busy. Boy Scouts, dance, baseball, cross country, gymnastics, band, golf, Girl Scouts, and basketball keep our evenings and weekend full. It's a busy life, but one we all enjoy.
I have co-anchored News 3 This Morning at WSIL-TV in southern Illinois since 2004. To answer the question I'm asked the most often: I get up at 1:45 a.m. and go to bed between 8:30 and 9 every night. Despite that early wakeup each morning, I love my job.
I've been a journalist since 1997, working in Florence, Alabama and West Lafayette, Indiana before moving to Carterville, Illinois. My wife and I are both from the St. Louis area and went to college at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, so we're close to family and friends.
Like I mentioned, I love professional wrestling. My friend and sometimes co-blogger Chad and I have been going to Wrestlemania every year since 2006 (we skipped Wrestlemania 27). I have done color commentary for two different wrestling companies in southern Illinois. I've been a ring announcer, referee, and manager for TNA Knockout Velvet Sky. In 2012, I stepped into the ring for one match with All American Pro Wrestling.
Besides staying busy with my family, work, and blogging, I also volunteer my time. I am the co-chairman of the Southern Illinois Men's Health Conference. I also participate in a variety of fundraising events for groups like Hospice of Southern Illinois, Gum Drops, and the Special Olympics.
That's me in a nutshell. Again, thanks for reading my blog and while you're here, check out my YouTube channel.
