Boo: Getting Bombed

The mid 90's was filled with all kinds of over the top gimmick wrestling.  That was especially the case in the WWF.  I've written about many of those characters in past Boo Blogs, but today I'm focusing on Adam Bomb.

He was played by Bryan Clark, who had wrestled before as the Nightstalker.  Bomb hailed from 3 Mile Island and wore yellow contact lenses, along with the fallout sign on his singlet and knee pads.  Johnny Polo (who later became Raven) managed Adam Bomb when he first debuted.  Eventually, Harvey Wippleman took over his contract, before he and Kwang the Ninja turned on Bomb.

Throughout his time in the WWF, Adam Bomb never really exploded on the scene.  He was midcard at best.  I was in college during this era and didn't get to watch wrestling as often as I wanted to, but I kept up with things in the magazines.  If memory serves me right, I think Bomb's biggest match probably came at Wrestlemania X against Earthquake.  He lost that match.

I actually enjoyed the character.  Bomb was by no means the best out there, but I found him mildly entertaining.  I think he got lost in the shuffle of bad gimmicks the WWF had going at the time and just ever found a way around it.

Bomb's time in the WWF wasn't long.  He left the company and headed to WCW to play the character Wrath before he finally wrestled under his real name with Bryan Adams in the duo KroniK.  They held the WCW tag team titles, but after WWE bought WCW, the team was quickly run out of the company by Undertaker and Kane.
