Character wrestling was a big deal in the WWF in the 1980's and 90's.  One character who didn't get a whole lot of due was that of Battle Kat.  The masked man was quite athletic in the ring, doing lots of flips, hand springs, and other gymnastics moves during his time in the WWF.

The man under that cat mask and orange and purple spandex was really Brady Boone, who had wrestled as a jobber in the WWF years prior to the gimmick change.  His career under the mask wasn't much better.  He was mostly used as enhancement talent, though scored a few victories in his short stint as a cat.

Sadly, Boone died in a car accident in 1998 while wrestling for WCW.  While he never climbed too high on the ladder of wrestling success, he did leave behind some great memories and one of the WWF's most outlandish gimmicks of the early nineties.

  1. I remember Battle Kat but wasn't aware he was Brady Boone under a hood. Very athletic--a good flyer. But I suspect Ernie Ladd pre-dates him by about 20 years! LMAO!
