Fights in Tights

@kevinhunsperger & @my123cents on Twitter

It's 'Dr. Seuss' Day and surely you've heard of classics like The Cat in the Hat, Fox in Socks and Hop on Pop. Today I give you another pro wrestling twist. While this will never hold up to the good doctor's writing, I submit to you Fights in Tights.

Stride Pro Wrestling is soon hitting the road.
The roster is in fundraising mode.
Christopher students will benefit from Saturday's show.
They're going to New York and need to raise dough.
Six matches are scheduled to entertain the crowd.
No doubt all the efforts will make our fans proud.
They grew up together, but now there's bad blood.
Stride Champion Jay Spade will face Tony Flood.
Both have years of experience inside the ring.
But after this match, only one will be king.
No one knows Anonymous under that mask.
Even the GM is too scared to ask.
He battles Magnifico for Legacy gold.
And the Stride Cup or so we've been told.
A Legacy contender will be put in place.
Either a mystery man, T-Dog, JD and Ace.
Hatton and Ax put their differences aside.
They want to be the best tag team in Stride.
Dexter and Phoenix will fight very hard.
And will have backup thanks to Beauregard.
Bronson and Matheus are the biggest of all.
Picking a winner is too tough to call.
Bo Sawyer the newcomer has really mean looks.
He's destroyed O'Riley and now targets Brooks.
Those are the matches, none are too strange.
But remember as always, card subject to change.

Wrestling Seuss style

@kevinhunsperger & @my123cents on Twitter

I know this isn't exactly Dr. Seuss, but since it is HIS day, I wanted to write another wrestling poem. This time hyping Saturday night's Stride Pro Wrestling show.

The wrestlers of Stride will soon celebrate one year.
That is something hundreds of fan will cheer.
A show is set for this Saturday eve.
For just 10 bucks great action you'll receive.
You won't find a cat in or hat or green eggs and ham,
but the GM in charge has the first name of Sam.
The champion Hatton teams with Joey and Jay
they'll battle the Mafia where the smackdown will lay.
Red, Roger and Jake are some really bad dudes,
but the good guys will fix those nasty attitudes.
Ax used a chain to knock out the Farmer
now J Wells should buy his guy armor.
Ax and Phoenix will team once again,
But Farmer and Hargas have plans to win.
Diamond and Cash were friends, but are now foes.
On Saturday night they'll come to blows.
A fabulous newcomer from south of the border
wants to win Legacy gold in short order.
But champion TDawg climbed to the top.
He's on a streak that'll be hard to stop.
Then there's the DR Party of Dexter and Bryan.
When their lips move they're most likely lying.
They'll take on two newcomers looking for fame,
but the duo will have to be on top of their game.
Sarah Summers plans to make a big hit
she'll step through the ropes against Little Bit.
Wilk battles Edwards in his return to Stride
no gold on the line, but a whole lot of pride.
These are the matches so don't be insane.
come join the fun and meet our ref Lane.

Seussing Up the Macho Man

Occasionally I try to be creative here on the blog.  I've written a couple of posts inspired by the late, great Dr. Seuss on his birthday; including Batista Hears a Boo and The Rock He Is. This year is no exception, but instead of basing the post off of an actual story by Seuss, I'm winging it. Here's a tribute to one of the all time greats, 2015 Hall of Fame inductee, "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

He carried a ball and a bat that he'd swing...
But found his success in the pro wrestling ring.
Bulging with muscles and stars on his tights,
his finishing elbow took him to new heights
Randy was macho, a champ and a royal.
Despite time with Sherri to Liz he was loyal.
He beat up on Hogan, on Brutus and Flair.
Randy was so savage he once beat a bear.
The Dragon did slay him at Wrestlemania Three,
But a year later he went on a spree
of beating the Hammer, the Gang and Butch Reed
along with DiBiase and many agreed...
Savage was awesome and so hard to stop--
No doubt about it, the cream of the crop.

Batista Hears a Boo

Batista returns

It's Dr. Seuss' birthday, and I'm celebrating again with a wrestling twist on a classic story.  I did it a few years ago when John Cena and The Rock were embroiled in their feud.  You can click here for that.  This is written in fun, and no disrespect is meant to anyone.

Batista Hears a Boo

On the 20th of January, in the city of Dayton,
on cold winter night, the fans had been waitin'
The pyro lit up as he ran to the ring,
but Batista the Animal wasn't treated like a king.
He climbed through the ropes and the cheers weren't there.
Batista was mad, and the fans didn't care.
Four years had passed by, and Batista had no clue,
why fans wouldn't cheer, and instead they would boo.
"I beat all the greats, 'Taker, Cena, Triple H...
even my ex partner, you know him, ol' Natch."
Although it's 2014, the Universe hasn't forgotten,
his matches were fair, but his attitude rotten.
They now cheer their favorites, like Dolph, Punk, and Bryan.
Booing you Batista, in hopes you go flyin'.
But Big Dave has his sites on the heavyweight gold,
no matter if fans think this rematch is old.
So for now it's Orton and Batista in the Big Easy,
fans will hiss and boo more, and likely feel queasy.
Who will win on that day? I am not all that keen.
We just hope the Animal won't be in skinny jeans.

The Rock He Is

By Kevin Hunsperger
@kevinhunsperger on Twitter

Since it's Doctor Seuss's birthday, I decided to get a little creative and have fun.  I hope you enjoy this.  I'll be writing and doing a more in depth vlog on Cena vs. Rock in the coming weeks.

He is the Rock.
The Rock he is.
The Rock is main eventing Wrestlemania, not the Miz.

Some stars are sad, others are bitter.
But the Rock says he's back and he isn't a quitter.

He hates John Cena, says he has lady parts.
Plans on putting boot to ass when the match starts.
The contest will be big, one of the biggest of all time.
But if the Rock wins, it'll be a huge crime.

Cena should win, the reasons are good.
John will be on Raw the next day, and the Rock in Hollywood.
So manginas, Fruity Pebbles, and jean shorts a side,
Cena will rise above hate and not go and hide.
